This is the cover photo from Lost in Transition.  It shows the Soviet Army Monument in the center of Sofia, Bulgaria, which was creatively vandalized in the summer of 2011.  The Soviet soldiers are painted to look like icons from American popular culture: Superman, Ronald McDonald, The Joker, Robin, Captain America, Wonder Woman, etc.
The graffiti art was only allowed to remain for a few days before it was washed away by a private NGO that supports “Bulgarian-Russian friendship.”
There is an article about it here: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2004814/Is-bird-Is-plane-No-Superman-friends-painted-Soviet-statue-Banksy-Bulgaria.html
